Sorry for not blogging for long time.. Series of events took place...
Alvon's 2nd birthday went pretty well. I managed to rush out his photos of 24 months and projected on the wall for that night. Thanks to a friend (who did for her twins birthday) for this great idea. Friends and relatives turned up and lucky the food seems just nice enough for all. Cake cutting went well too as Alvon sat on his high chair and usual family photo taking and birthday songs and etc. He seems more relaxed than his 1st birthday, when he cried for a while during song singing. All in all, we were glad the party went well. Next day, as usual, I took photos of Alvon and his presents and angbaos and had a day of fun at the chalet.
Eylan won the most popular baby contest from New Maternity. Although the prize is not very much, but it is the spirit that relatives and friends and even friend's friends helped in the facebook voting. Alvon was second but there is only one prize for most popular. Thank you all for the voting.
Alvon promoted to Nursery and had a change of English teacher and his classroom. Although the Chinese teacher is the same, I personally feels Alvon is closer to the previous English teacher. Anyway, I just hope he can adapt to the change of environment and teacher soon.
Last week of 2010, Alvon had fever for a day or two and we took him to the PD. PD found he got ulcers in his mouth, but no rashes on his palms and feet. PD adviced to let him stay home for a week. Although the treatment is same as HFMD, but as he got no rashes, it is just a precaution treatment. And there goes my rest, for I have to "separate" the boys and take care of Alvon myself.
Lastly, Eylan has a godmother. He always want my helper to carry him around, but he seems pretty well-behaved when his godmother carry him. He got a nickname too, koala, because when he is tired and falling asleep, he will "koala" his head on your chest just like a koala and dazed till he fall asleep.
Eylan's cereal feeding included carrot, apple and pumpkim now. I need to find some more to add to his variety soon though. However, twice he ate cereal with pumpkim, he vomited after his feed. Last night was pretty scary, with him vomitting from his mouth and his nose too.

At seven months now, Eylan can steady himself on his tummy now and at times he will rotate himself while on his tummy, crawl bit by bit to get something he wants. We started putting him in baby chair for cereal feeds now and he seems to sit more steadily now too.
Next, I am going to try rice cereal with carrot puree for him. Finally I can start to use the steam-cum-blend machine that we recently bought at Expo fair.
Last night, Eylan had a good laugh, when he saw his kor-kor trying to jump on the spot. And cheeky Alvon, when he knows what he did amused his di-di, he will continue doing over and over again and Eylan was laughing non-stop. End up we have to get distract Alvon attention then Eylan can rest from laughing.

It happened on one normal night, Alvon and I was inside the room, trying to sleep. Daddy walked in and sat beside me, telling me that he also want to sleep already. So Daddy turned and leaned towards me, gave me the usual good night kiss and fall back on his pillow.
Alvon, seeing what his daddy did, stood up suddenly, walk towards me, and gave me a good night kiss just as what his daddy just did. After which, Alvon went back to his cot bed and hug his pillow, continue his usual turning to fall asleep.
It was just simply sweet tiny action that meant nothing to him but everything to me. :)

Over the weekend, I tried to give Eylan rice cereal again. And this time, I can see that he will want his cereal feed. On Sat, I gave 1 feed with 1 scoop and on Sunday, I gave 2 feeds with 2 scoops each feed. Finally he can start his cereal meal now. Very soon, I will start him on rice cereal mixed with puree, such as carrot, potato, etc..
Speaking of which, I was very tempted to buy the Philips Steamer + Blender for very long ago. And daddy bought it on Sat at the fair. I was so happy. In past, when preparing Alvon's puree, I had to do one week supply because of the steaming and blending process. It can takes me 2 to 3 hours to finish preparing one week supply. Not to say the freshness. Now, with this new machine, Eylan can enjoy fresh puree in just like couple of minutes (depending on the steaming). Of course there is no hassle of washing also, because it is all in one machine that simply took a little of our kitchen space.

This morning, I received a call from my mother. When I picked the call, I don't hear anyone talking. My first thought, could it be Alvon or Eylan playing their Ah-ma's phone and accidently called me.
True enough, it was Alvon. I can hear him babytalk on the other side while holding the phone. Not long, I heard his Ah-ma asked who did he call from the background and Alvon replied "meeeee".
That's my dear little big boy :)

Eylan is now going to 7 month old. By 6 month, we can actually try to feed him cereal. However, I feel his head more stable now and so I gave him cereal on one of the weekends. But I think he still don't get the skill of swallowing, so it becomes a feeding but drooling session for him. His saliva mixed with cereal in his mouth and became kind of watery and drool all over his body instead. A real messy affair. Maybe I will try again very soon. These days, he been like watching so intentively at us whenever we were having dinner.
Alvon finally called "eerrr.. mmeeeeeeee". He don't call as mommy very nice but having this eerrr in front and the long dragging mmeeee. Still trying to correct him to "mommy" but at least he knows he is calling me now :)
And yes, at times, he can be pretty talkative too. Worse when we have no idea what he is talking about. Ha ha
Love my boys lots.. muackz muackz

This morning, while on the way to office, I thought of what changes have I made after being a mother of two little boys. The below not in order and these are what I have thought of..
In the past, I like to wear my heels to work. I don't like flat shoes or wrap shoes. When it is dress down day, I will wear my Birkenstock then. Now, to convenient me holding Alvon walking beside me and to prevent me from falling, I rule out all possibility of falling due to wearing heels and change to wear flat wrap shoes.
In the past, I will work late till 8pm or when dear time to knock off. If I work late, will normally have dinner here with my col and there are few places where I missed going to for dinner with them. Not to say at times, we go for drinks at pub.
I don't seems to remember when is the last time I went for a KTV session. Not that friends didn't invite me, but either when I was preggy and feel loud system may not be good for the foetus, or when I cannot leave my babies with my helper alone.
Drinking is a NO NO during breastfeeding.
Alright, going for my lunch now. I will add on when I think of anything else.
